Really frustrated with WordPress at the moment. After upgrading to the latest version 3.1, I now find that I cannot edit the images that I post here, which normally entails making them the right size and opening my website in a new window. Have looked on the WP Forum, it would appear that others are having the same issues too, but I don’t understand the solutions given which involve behind-the-scene PHP amendments, and I am too wary to try tinkering in case I ‘break it’ and have to get Mark to fix it for me AGAIN! Security Admin Tools says my .htaccess file is in the wrong place, but my ISP have changed their interface so I can’t now find my directory structure to try and move it to the right place – arrghghhh!!!!!!
As a consequence of the above this photo look rubbish (out of focus because the sizing is about a pixel out or something), so please accept my apologies for this and view the in-focus version on my website and then comment back here if you like it. In the meantime I will try to get the Tedious Technical Issues above sorted over the weekend.
In a huff now – hate it when I can’t fix things myself 🙁
Anyway, this was taken at Manor House B, the lethal building awaiting demolition that Mark and I visited last weekend. This beautiful organ is sitting quietly in the living room, it’s keys seized up but otherwise in very good condition, and unless someone salvages it is doomed to be crushed under tonnes of rubble and masonry when the building is knocked down….
Nice to see your take on this after previously seeing the one that Mark did, and really like the texture you have used – it looks great on these walls. I’m left wondering who took their photos first…as I notice a few things have been added or removed to the scene depending on the answer. I’m going to guess that Mark went first and you added a few things to the chair as they do seem deliberately placed.
Thanks Mike, I’m like you and think it’s always interesting to see different photographer’s versions of the same place! However, I have to say that I did this scene first, and left the stuff on the chair exactly as I found it – maybe a previous visitor had placed them there? We’ll probably never know……
I”m having a few issues with WP 3.1 too! Specifically my page stats are out of timing sync and sometimes clicking on a draft post sends me to a random page already published? Can I blame for my router playing up on them too! Like the pic by the way!
You’re right Toad, it’s incredible that they did, but given the number of pianos I have seen in urbex locations perhaps people consider them just too heavy and awkward to move out when they leave a place for the last time? It’s still sad to see though ….
Great image Viveca, that organ just confounds me! I can’t believe someone would leave that behind like that.
