Star Blossom, Part 4

In “Paradise Lost” Milton has starbright
angels like soldiers or security guards patrolling Paradise
to make sure no one untoward
gets in. The fox snuffling for breakfast
in frosted ivy. So cold, the man moving
house hurriedly closes his door, even
though he doesn’t live on this street as of today.

His heart listens to feelings.
His head has all the words.
Feeling says yes or no to a
word that tries to get in.

An invisible companion. The star
builds unaware, except through us.
Planets, houses the star has haunted
with life – and others (the most distant)
it will never rouse from icy sleep.
As if a generous but rueful face
were looking for a mirror, a glass,
in which to study its collected lines.

I can’t wait to see this book in print. When will it be available? Is your uncle planning on self- or commercial-publishing? Lovely rich imagery, Viveca. Funny…we both have frost themes today in our respective blog posts. 🙂

Thanks Chris, I’m really quite excited to see it too! We are self-publishing through Blurb, I’ve done a few books with them now and I know that the quality will be really nice. I will of course let you and everyone else know once the book is available!
